Work: Afia and the Blue & Silver Gele Flip

Lagos, November 10, 2013.

On Sunday Afia, one of my favourite clients came in for a makeover. She asked that I keep her look pretty but simple (like she did it herself) so I went with a good base to optimise her features, neutral eyes and a soft pink lip. Her gele (Nigerian head wrap) was blue but after unwrapping it we agreed that the back side which was silver was too pretty to waste. We set out to make both sides show and the “Gele Flip” was born. FYI I fully intend to trademark that so don’t steal it LOL.
