Product Review: Urban Decay Book of Shadows III

After missing out on the Book of Shadows II (Alice in wonderland) I was thrilled to find the Book of Shadows III (UD<3NYC) on sale in Paris. This book initially launched in the Time Square Sephora NY on the 28th of August 2010 and sold out in less than an hour!
Now you understand why I was excited to stumble upon the Book of Shadows III in Sephora on the Champs Elysees.

Without any further ado, I present to you Urban Decay Book of Shadows III: UD NYC

It lights up and everything! LOL

Swatches:

Zero (black) & Ransom (shimmery purple)
Verdict:
Great value. Especially if like me, you are looking to try out Urban Decay products without investing in individual eye shadows (they cos16 each). The eye shadows are highly pigmented; my swatches are the result of one swipe and no eye shadow base. The pencils give a good color pay off too, with little effort.
The pack is very artsy and pretty, it lights up and everything! That  creates a it a bit of a collectors item feel to it. The top does not stay open on its own though, you need to hold it. It has a mirror on the top half and all the products in a drawer (that can be pulled out completely) just below. It is quite bulky but you can pull out the product layer when in use.
Like I said its great value. For €45 you get 16 shades of eye shadow, two miniature pencils and a miniature version of their world famous eye shadow primer potion plus the pretty deco on the top LOL.
I got my Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol III 10 days ago (the day after it arrived :-). If you want one, you will need to hurry because it is a limited edition (even if it has appeared in Paris months after the initial launch ;P)

I’ll be sharing some looks using this palette soon, so watch out for that. Till then…

TTFN Divas!
