Product Review: Proactiv 3 Step Solution

First of all @Lilly Johnson bless your soul for saying I have nice skin. However I have a confession to make.
The truth is that I actually have adult acne which I manage to control with the Proactiv Solution. So if my skin looks good in my pictures it a combined effort and probably has a bit to do with my makeup #trueconfession.

Step 1: Renew

This medicated Renewing Cleanser is made with new, exclusive micro-crystal benzoyl peroxide — featuring smaller, finer particles designed to quickly penetrate pores to start killing acne-causing bacteria on contact. Tiny exfoliating beads gently remove dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells to help keep pores from clogging. 

Step 2: Revitalize

This refreshing, alcohol-free toner helps remove impurities and excess oil so your skin looks and feels clean, soft and refreshed — not tight and dried out. Soothing botanical agents gently balance your skin tone. 

Step 3: Repair 

The repairing treatment is a feather-light medicated lotion that gets deep into clogged pores faster but is designed to be gentler on the skin. It’s an oil-free formula that’s safe for your entire face. 

Refining Mask

The rich, deep cleansing mask uses sulfur, a proven acne-fighting ingredient that reaches deep into the pores where blemishes begin. It gently unplugs pores, heals existing blemishes, pampers inflamed skin and softens and refines the skin texture.

The 3 steps are for use twice a day while the mask is to be use 2-3 times a week.

Verdict:

This is a PREVENTIVE system, so if you stop using it after it start working, the acne will come right back! Also it is combination treatment; you need to use all three products (cleanser, toner and lotion) together for results.  The mask is complementary to the 3 steps; it’s not compulsory but helps the 3 steps. The mask can also be used as an “on the spot” treatment (put on pimples over night)  to speed up the healing process.
On a different note, the face cleanser and lotion contain Benzoyl Peroxide which may discolor fabrics so after applying you should wash your hands.

N.B If you set up an account with Proactiv please keep track of your stock. They tend to send you more than you need so suspend your account (like I have now done) if you end up with too much products or reset the regularity of the deliveries to suit your pace. It would be a shame if you pay for products that expire before you get the chance to use them.
