Product Review: Magnolia Makeup Matte Individual Pigments

For a while now, I’ve been hearing (&seeing) great things about Magnolia makeup. I had to get my hands on some and The Makeup Show Europe in September was my chance to do just that.
I also got to meet Niala and Tia, the sisters who founded the brand. They were so sweet and funny, I had fun at their booth.

I got a bunch of their products and will be reviewing them all in time, first up Magnolia Makeup Matte Pigments…

I got 4 shades Creole tomato, Puddin, Roux and Antoinette.
Price:
Magnolia makeup matte loose pigments retail for $10/10 for 3g of pigment.
This is the 1 hitch in an otherwise perfect picture, Magnolia loose pigments are not cheap. €10 for 3gr means 3.3/g making them cheaper than Makeup Forever ($6.8/g) and Mac ($4.4/g) but still not exactly cheap.

Creole Tomato is a bright red matte shade

Puddin is a matte milk chocolate shade. If you are dark skinned like me,  is a nice shade for a subtle crease color or as a gradient for a darker crease

Packaging:
Magnolia makeup matte loose pigments come in pretty simple pack. A clear plastic base you can see the product through and a black cover. The black cover carries the Magnolia makeup brand name and logo and under the clear base is a sticker with product information including shade name and ingredients.

Antoinette: A rich fuscia pink shade with subtle silver sparkle
Roux: A dark rose color (LOVE IT)
Purchasing:
Magnolia makeup is available from the Magnolia makeup website (they ship internationally), and from their store at 818 Chartres, New Orleans, LA 70116.
You can also find them on Facebook and Twitter.
Product:
The color pay off from these pigments cannot be questioned; even the brightest of shades turn up on my dark skin as they do in the pack. The pigments do well on their own and even better over a cream base.

Overall:
Worth every penny. I described these pigments as not cheap, that’s true but still I think they are worth the money. The pigments come in unique shades (like roux & creole tomato) you might not find elsewhere. I’m also loving the color intensity, it’s very impressive.
P.S Magnolia makeup will be having a black friday sale, look out for it 😉
