I got this at the Makeup Show Europe in September and have played around with it quite a bit since…
Price:
J’ouvert Gel eyeliner retails for €15.50/5g . Compared to Bobby Brown 22,50€/3g and Mac 17.00€/3g it’s on the more affordable end, but still more expensive than drug store brands like, Sleek €8.00/5.5g .
Packaging:
J’ouvert Gel eyeliner comes in a small glass looking plastic jar. The base is completely clear so you can see the product through it. It comes with a plain black screw on cover.
Purchasing:
I got mine at the Makeup show Europe, they are also available on the J’ouvert Cosmetics website. The shades displayed on the site are computer generated (which is always a downer) so you don’t get a very accurate representation of the shades.
Product:
I got No.5, which is a rich shimmery emerald green. J’ouvert Gel eyeliner is very pigmented, the dark greens turns up on my skin as they appear in the jar. The 1st time I tried this on my waterline, I went dancing and 5 hours later it was still there.
I’ve used it to line my waterline and upper lash line. It also works well as an eye shadow or an eye shadow base. To use as an eye shadow base, spread a thin layer over your lid then follow immediately with eye shadow because its slightly sticky at first but dries quickly.
Swatches:
Bottom-line:
I’m happy with this eye liner, its not the cheapest on the market but it gives good color pay off, lasts long and has multiple uses.
