Product Review: Anne Elise Chic Curl

Last year I was sent some hair from Anne Elise, a brand that specialises in real hair extensions. Anne Elise is most known for their raw hair blends a mix hair of 2-3 different origins creating a best of both worlds type scenario. I was sent samples from their Textures range. The Anne Elise Textures range is a range of processed ore-styled hair extensions.

If I was rating Anne Elise’s packaging on a scale of 1 to 10 would give them a whooping 10! The packaging is gorgeous, very girly and simply beautiful. I received the package in a white cloth bag, inside the white cloth bag were 2 boxes; one with complementary hair care products: a shower cap, paddle brush and clear bag and the other with a satin draw string bag in which lay the hair.

Anne Elise Chic Curl is processed real hair that comes pre-curled at the tips. From the weft the 1st 3/4 of the hair is slightly wavy and the last 1/4 hold the curl. I was sent 300gr of Chic curl; a bundle each of 14″, 16″ and 18″. The 18″ was clearly longer than the remaining 2 bundles but there was very little difference if any between the 14″ and the 16″ bundles.
The texture is smooth and silky to the touch but it still blended in well with my freshly relaxed edges. The first time I wore the Chic Curl and for the first 2 weeks or so after I had it sewn in,  I could run my fingers through the hair from roots to tips with no interruption at all, no shedding and not just right rafter brushing it either. At first the curls stood out so the different lengths did not blend in well, but with wear in a few days they blended in well.

I kept the weave in for 4 weeks the first time I had it installed and did absolutely nothing to it. No styling, no serum, nothing at all because it didn’t need anything. All I did was brush it (with the paddle brush it came with) and sleep in a satin cap. The curled became waves and the waves stayed in till I washed the weave.

Washed and air dried

After the 1st wash the hair looked straight with small waves at the tips where the curls had been. After re-installing the hair I had the hair curled with a curling wand and it held the curl/waves for about a week.

I’m sure you can tell by now but I thoroughly enjoyed Anne Elise Chic Curl. At first I had my reservations since processed hair tends not to fair as well as virgin hair but the pros definitely out weigh the cons here. I especially love that the texture is smooth enough for my fingers to run through it without a hitch even after it was washed and restyled.
