Last weekend I was at the Makeup Fair Lagos, for the event I needed to look nice but didn’t have too much time to put together a full on glam look.
This is what I came up with… a nude lid with dark blue and plum edges and a nude lip.
Face:
Matchmaster Foundation from Mac 8.0
Suede Effect Pressed Powder 01(highlight)
Suede Effect Pressed Powder 03 & 04(My shade)
Face and body highlighter in Gold Digger
Eyes:
Urban Decay Eye shadow primer potion
Urban Decay Eye shadow primer potion
Brown Brow pencil from Sleek Makeup
Naked eye shadow from the Urban Decay Naked palette
Suede Effect Pressed Powder 03 (on my eye lid)
Navy blue eye shadow from the Sleek Bohemian palette.
Rebel eye shadow from the Sleek Badgirl palette.
Dip it eye liner in Black from Sleek
Twist up eye liner in Midnight all from Sleek Makeup
747M Human hair lashes from Stardel
Lash Out Mascara in Black
Lips:
Brown Lip pencil from Sleek
Kevin Aucoin elegant lipgloss in Vesuvian caramel
I’m now working on a step by step picture tutorial for this look. It was pretty easy to create and doesn’t need to be neat to look right, with the right tools you could pull it off too.
xoxo!

Hi Stella can u pls recommend a good powder for me. I have so many I already bought that don't work. My face is very oily, 2hrs tops and its like a mirror. I don't knw how to describe my complexion, but I'm fair cos I use Mary Kay Bronze 507 liquid foundation.
Pls help a sister out. *hugs

You just need to invest in a good foundation primer and stay away from liquid foundations b/c of your oily skin. Try stick foundations instead! Black opal and iman have good stick foundations that last. Or better still, if you have clear skin, skip foundation and opt for an oil blotting powder instead or keep an eye for oil free on the pack of any powder. I swear by Laura mercier, and smashbox foundation primers. Also a finishing/fix-it spray helps to hold makeup in place longer. Just keep an oil blotter (sleek. Marykay have good ones) close by and a finishing powder for touch ups.

Hi man-eater,
1st of all you need to own the fact that you have oily skin, so at some point in the day your natural oils will shine through. For oily skin be sure to choose oil free/oil absorbing powder. in addition to that there are measures you can take to extend your powders wear; matifying primer, blotting paper, blotting powder, finishing spray… If you will like me to help find your perfect match, stop by my makeup studio 😉
And FYI liquid foundations are generally better for oily skin than stick foundation. Black Opal's stick foundation is great for full coverage but it's not oil free so definitely not the best for oily skin.
