Bridal Make Up Take 1

As requested by Uju I have decided to do a bridal look series to help in her upcoming ‘makeup artist by default’ duties.
Bridal make up, is a lot like regular make up except that it is designed to last a lot longer longer and resist crying, dancing…you get the idea. There is also the general conception that it should be ‘au naturelle’ , I personally think that bridal make up along with everything else that has to do with your wedding should reflect the your personality. You should aim for a glamorous/improved version of yourself as opposed to conforming to some general conception but maybe that’s just me.

To help your make up last longer, you generally want to build it up in layers. I would start with a good matifying primer especially if your bride has oily skin. Followed with foundation set with powder. For your eyes you want to use a primer as well, I use Urban Decay’s eye shadow primer potion because it keeps your eyeshadow in place.

The first bridal look is going to be a clean-cut natural glam look inspired by my idol… Mr Sam Fine. Mr Fine is a huge inspiration for me; I think he is absolutely genius but more on him later. The classic Sam Fine look as you have seen on the likes of Monique, Tyra Banks and  Iman,  is a natural glam look with  lots of neutral shades, full lashes and some mojor contouring to enhance your best features and hides all else. This is my first stab at it so its not perfect yet but I hope you get the general idea.
Here is the breakdown for this look.
Base:

I’m wearing Mac studio tech in NC50 (this product is not the best for oily skin but if like me you already have it wear a very light layer over a matifying primer) set with translucent loose powder in Dark from Sleek. For a highlight I used superior pressed powder in Biscuit and Wood smoke for contouring, from Sleek Make up.
Eyes:
My brows are filled in with the brown brow pencil, on my brow bone I have on Hide it concealer in No.2 set with superior pressed powder in biscuit all from Sleek Makeup.
On my eyelids I started with Urban decay EPP, a light layer of Yves Rocher Metal cream eye shadow in Mercury. Next I went over it with Maximum impact eye shadow from Sleek in Nude.  Then I cut my crease with matte black eye shadow and blended it out into my brow highlight.
Black liquid liner from Yves Rocher to line my upper eyelid and black twist up eyeliner in my water line and 1001 Cils mascara from Bourjois.
Lips:
I lined my lips with brown lip liner and went over the liner with dark brown lipstick, then I applied with Sleek wonder last lip color in Soft suede then finished with Shimmer glaze lip-gloss in First kiss all from Sleek Make up.
